AIB Roast Hype

AIB Roast is the recent hot. There has been much hype and speculation on the issue.I just am expressing my views on the same. I'm not endorsing roast sessions, nor am I urging that such sessions are healthy, especially for a nation-of-conservatives.

First of all, the celebrities participating in the show had no problem being roasted in front of a huge audience. The huge audience who had bought tickets to attend the show were able to take the filthy and obscene jokes in their stride. I,personally, enjoyed the session and laughed my heart out. And I'm pretty sure that the youth of my age would also have enjoyed it. Then why the heck people had to make a mess out of this? Why can't they accept roasting as an art form and let the participants, producers and organizers make money? Why can't they just laugh it off? After all, laughter is the best way to relieve stress.

Moreover, viewers’ discretion was advised by AIB through a disclaimer at the start of the video. They did have an option to either watch or entirely ignore the content.

Secondly, we do have porn industry  on a roll. We have accepted a porn actress turning into a mainstream actress. Then why can't they welcome comedy in a creative way ? Why can't they understand that freedom of thought and expression is an immensely valuable gift that must be preserved at any cost?

There has been much hype about actor Amir Khan condemning such sessions. I do not mean offense to anybody but does Delhi belly not have offensive words? Does the movie not have the first ever oral sex scene in the history of Bollywood? Does it not have the double meaning song 'Bhag DK Bose' ? Coming to his latest release PK, which aroused much controversy over the country. Did the movie not portray a naked Amir Khan in the poster? Or did it not hurt the religious sentiments of the citizens by insulting Lord Shiva? Oh I'm sorry! I forgot hypocrisy is deep rooted in the people of India. I should not be making such rational comments.

If these people are to revolt against something, then why not revolt against rising sexual violence against women and children? Why not make use of the energy to contain the ever-rising pollution which comes with a myriad of related problems?  There are lot many such issues which need special regard. Why not divert the much needed attention to such issues?

Anyway, I have immense faith in the youth and judiciary of my country. I do believe the country's situation will soon upgrade and will go on to becoming a better place to live in.
